With his nearly nine years of college admissions and candidate management experience, Grant provides his students with holistic counseling. Grant earned his M.Ed. in Education from Chapman University and took on the role of Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions, where he devised and implemented student engagement strategy. He then went on to manage all recruitment and counseling as Senior Assistant Director of Admission for University of Richmond’s Western-US Region.

As a recruiter and internship program manager for Riot Games, a video game developer, he was responsible for attracting some of tech’s best and brightest as well as creating a complete training curriculum. But he couldn’t stay away from admissions for long—he soon found himself at Pomona College, where he was once again guiding students through the admissions process.

With his strong admissions and tech knowledge, Grant offers a balanced approach to counseling: he is data-driven while also offering individualized support to students searching for their best-fit school. In his spare time, Grant enjoys rock-climbing, escape rooms, and, reciting Hamilton in its entirety.

What are people saying about Collegewise?

Our daughter’s Collegewise counselor was kind and thoughtful—but also focused and insightful. He was great at helping her manage the whole process, and his encouragement helped her to keep chipping away, without ever getting overwhelmed. His specific insights about particular schools and how best to approach them was invaluable! We really appreciate our counselor’s ability to create a supportive relationship with the students he counsels.

David Berry, Parent of Nora Berry

Duke University

We needed a straight-up analysis of the top 30 colleges in the U.S. that were a good fit for our son, so that we could focus limited time and resources…and that's just what we got! The list our counselor put together bore a remarkable similarity to our initial (and final) top ten. To do that, Collegewise listened, and they just knew. When all is said and done, and you've sorted colleges by size and curriculum and attainability, Collegewise showed us that the school’s character and “feel” counts most.

Michael B Nobbs, Parent of Jonty Nobbs

Carnegie Mellon University

I had a wonderful experience with my Collegewise counselor! He enhanced my skills in a way that allowed me to complete my personal statements and essays with ease, confidence, and efficiency. I loved having a go-to person for all my questions throughout the entire application process. My top three choices were the University of Southern California, University of California, Irvine, and Loyola Marymount University. I applied to the engineering programs at each and received an offer from all three!

Adreanna LaPorte

USC

The terrifying thought that you won't ever get accepted into any school crossed my mind many times, but my Collegewise counselor always encouraged me. Searching for the right university was a very stressful process, and without my counselor, I could not have done it. He immediately understood my needs and helped me end up at a school that I'm happy to call my new home!

Paula Daccarett

University of Colorado Boulder

I don't know where I would be without Collegewise. Being the oldest child in my family, we had no idea where to start when applying. Collegewise was a huge help in the stressful process!

Diana Bradburn

University of Oregon

At every step in the process, my counselor provided me with invaluable advice based on his time as an admissions officer. He also helped me feel enthusiastic about what I was writing, which shined through in my essays. In short, my counselor made the application process an exciting—rather than stressful—experience for me!
